COUNTRY
Gunnadoo comprises a valuable mix of strong breeding and finishing country with a variety of land types including black brown pebbly soil scrub country of brigalow, bauhinia and gidgea plus gravelly quartz ridges timbered by bloodwood and box running to red tableland ironbark country with scattered rocky outcrops and lancewood or rosewood tops interspersed by soft brigalow hollows throughout, also fertile alluvial flats on creeks and frontage areas adjoining the Suttor River and Burdekin Dam frontages.
Roughly half the property has been pulled and seeded to buffel grass with prolific stands now prevalent on the softer creek flats and scrub country. The balance of the property is generally well grassed by native species, black and white spear, forest Mitchell, some Indian couch plus edible shrub with large areas of the ridges and higher country well established to seca stylo.
WATER
Gunnadoo has a safe and well distributed stock water supply featuring a newly installed pipeline system with a diesel powered mono pump on the Suttor/Dam frontage pumping via 12 km of 90 mm poly pipe to a 50,000 gallon storage tank on a property high point and reticulating to another storage tank and 18 troughs through 14 km of 63 mm poly.
The Suttor/Dam frontage extends for 25 km, all permanent water with three holes in river anabranches providing safe access for cattle. There are also 19 dams, of various sizes up to 15,000 cubic metres, 10 equipped with windmills, tanks and troughs plus two equipped wells.
STRUCTURES
The station complex includes a low set, split level homestead with four bedrooms plus office, a smaller three bedroom staff house and outbuildings including machinery shed, hay shed and several storage sheds, all well maintained.
The property is fully boundary fenced except on the Dam frontage and subdivided into 13 main grazing paddocks with holding paddocks and a central laneway to the homestead yards. The cattle yards are built in timber and steel and equipped with all necessary handling facilities including crush, branding race and cradle, loading ramp and dip.
STOCK AND PLANT
Offered with 2,500 cattle mostly females plus station plant and equipment, including a dozer, grader and scraper. The cattle are predominately Brahman or Droughtmaster types with a major infusion of Euro bloodlines.
