Precincts & Urban Renewal
Under AssessmentA rezoning proposal for the 99-hectare Werrington Precinct, jointly put forward by Western Sydney University and Stockland, seeking to amend the Penrith Local Environmental Plan 2010. The proposal covers the Werrington North and South campus sites either side of the Great Western Highway, about 5km from Penrith CBD, and is being assessed via the State Assessed Rezoning Proposal pathway. It could deliver approximately 1,500 homes, including around 900 residential lots, 500 apartments and 45 affordable homes, a local centre supporting more than 1,000 ongoing jobs, about 12,000 square metres of retail, commercial and community floorspace, 18.4 hectares of public open space, 12.5 hectares of conservation land, and community facilities including the heritage-listed Frogmore House.
