Communities, Precincts & Urban Renewal
ApprovedThe Barossa Council's 30-year Growth and Infrastructure Investment Strategy coordinates land use planning, infrastructure priorities and growth management across the Barossa while protecting the region's wine, food, tourism, heritage and lifestyle character. Council authorised the Phase 1 strategy on 18 March 2025 after consultation. Phase 1 focuses on residential infill in Nuriootpa, Tanunda and Angaston, infrastructure priorities and housing supply, while some tourism and employment proposals continue to Phase 2 investigations. The related Concordia Growth Area is now a major delivery focus after State Government finalisation of the Code Amendment and concept plan in September 2025, with infrastructure planning for about 12,000 homes and more than 30,000 residents over 30 years.
