About stamp duty in WA

The general table is a standard progressive scale. Above $725,000 the marginal rate is 5.15% on the excess, after a $28,453 base.

RevenueWA also publishes owner-occupier concessional rates. They are not modelled on this page, so a home buyer and an investor currently see the same general figure. Treat that as a labelled gap, not as advice that no concession exists.

Landgate’s regulated transfer document fee from 1 July 2026 is $225.10.

Concessions this calculator models

  • Owner-occupier concessional rates exist at RevenueWA and are not modelled here. The general schedule is shown for every buyer type.
  • A first-home checkbox does not change the WA result on this calculator. Confirm current first-home and off-the-plan treatment with RevenueWA.

Landgate regulated transfer fee from 1 July 2026 is $225.10.

Common questions

How much WA stamp duty on a $750,000 property?
General transfer duty is $29,741 ($28,453 plus 5.15% of the $25,000 above $725,000), plus the $225.10 Landgate fee.
Does this WA calculator apply first-home or PPR rates?
No. Owner-occupier concessional rates are published by RevenueWA and are not in this model. The figure you see is the general schedule.
Is WA stamp duty the same as transfer duty?
Yes. Western Australia’s legislation and RevenueWA use transfer duty. Settlement quotes still often say stamp duty.
