The ACT Revenue Office charges conveyance duty. This calculator uses the non-owner-occupier (investor) table current from 1 July 2026. Owner-occupier concessional rates are published by the ACT and are not modelled here.

About stamp duty in the ACT

Canberra buyers still meet this tax at settlement. The ACT has been changing conveyance duty over time; the investor table on this page is the 2026–27 non-owner-occupier schedule.

Above $1,455,000 the investor rate is a flat 4.54% of the entire dutiable value, not a marginal add-on. Below that, the table is progressive, with a 6.4% marginal rate between $1 million and $1.455 million.
